Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Pept may collect through this website, why we use it, and the choices available to visitors and customers.

01

Scope of this policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Pept Research LLC ("Pept") collects, uses, discloses, retains, and protects personal information when you visit peptresearch.com, contact us, create a cart, submit an order, or otherwise interact with the website.

It does not govern websites, payment services, delivery carriers, or other services operated independently by third parties. Their privacy policies apply to information they collect directly.

02

Information you provide

We may collect information you provide directly, including your name, email address, billing and shipping details, age and researcher confirmations, selected researcher category, affirmation time and version, order and cart information, payment-method selection, customer-service messages, and other information submitted through forms.

When live payment processing is enabled, a payment provider may collect bank-account, card, identity, or authentication information directly. Pept should receive only the information needed to confirm and support the transaction and generally should not receive full bank-login or complete card credentials.

03

Information collected automatically

Hosting, security, and network services may automatically process technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as IP address, request time, browser and device type, referring page, pages requested, general location inferred from IP address, and security or error events.

The site uses essential browser storage for cart continuity and consent preferences. After a researcher affirmation is recorded, the server sets an essential, HTTP-only session token so the affirmation can be associated with an order without exposing the underlying record to browser scripts. Optional analytics and performance tools do not load unless you select "Allow optional analytics."

04

Sources of information

We collect information from you, your browser or device, and service providers that support hosting, security, payments, communications, fulfillment, and delivery.

We may also receive information from fraud-prevention services, delivery carriers, or business partners when reasonably necessary to verify a transaction, investigate misuse, or resolve an order issue.

05

How we use information

We use information to operate and secure the site; preserve carts and preferences; assess researcher acknowledgments; process, review, and support orders; calculate tax and shipping; provide delivery updates; respond to inquiries; prevent fraud and prohibited use; maintain records; and satisfy legal obligations.

If you allow optional analytics, we may use aggregated interaction and performance information to understand site usage and improve reliability, navigation, and catalog presentation.

With your consent where required, we may send catalog announcements or research-use updates. You may unsubscribe from promotional email at any time. Transactional and compliance messages may still be sent when necessary.

06

Cookies, browser storage, and consent

The cookie notice lets you allow or deny optional analytics and performance tools. Denying optional analytics does not prevent essential browser storage used for the cart, security, researcher affirmation session, and consent preference.

You can change your selection at any time using the cookie-settings control displayed on the site. Clearing browser data may remove your saved selection and cart. Browser settings can also restrict cookies or storage, although some site features may then function differently.

When allowed, Pept may use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights. Vercel describes Web Analytics as cookie-free; Pept nevertheless treats these tools as optional and does not render them until you affirmatively allow optional analytics.

07

Payment information

When enabled, payment choices may include an ACH or bank-connection service such as Plaid, order-specific Zelle instructions, or card processing. The available options may change.

A payment provider processes information under its own terms and privacy policy. Review those materials before submitting payment. Do not send sensitive bank credentials, full card details, or payment to an address or account that has not been presented through Pept's official checkout or verified communications.

08

When information is shared

We may disclose information to service providers that support hosting, security, payments, tax calculation, order fulfillment, delivery, email, analytics, fraud prevention, and customer support. Providers should receive only information reasonably needed to perform the requested service.

We may also disclose information when required by law or legal process; to enforce agreements; to protect rights, property, safety, or site security; to investigate fraud, prohibited use, or an emergency; or as part of a financing, merger, reorganization, acquisition, or transfer of business assets.

Pept does not sell personal information for money. Pept does not knowingly share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising. If these practices change, this policy and any required opt-out controls will be updated before the change.

09

Retention and security

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described here, including order support, tax and accounting requirements, fraud prevention, dispute resolution, safety and compliance records, and enforcement of agreements. Retention periods vary by information type and legal obligation.

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

10

Your privacy choices

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of certain personal information; to limit or object to certain processing; and to appeal a denied request. Applicable law may permit or require exceptions.

You may deny optional analytics through the cookie notice, change that choice using cookie settings, unsubscribe from promotional email, and decline to provide optional information. Some information is necessary to process an order or respond to a request.

We may need to verify your identity and authority before completing a request. An authorized agent may be required to provide proof of authority.

11

California privacy information

California residents may have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended, including rights to know, access, correct, and delete certain personal information and to opt out of sale or sharing when those practices occur. California law also prohibits discriminatory treatment for exercising applicable privacy rights.

Pept does not currently sell personal information for money or knowingly share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We will honor legally valid requests and applicable browser-based opt-out signals where required.

12

Children and age restriction

The site and catalog are intended only for adults who are at least 21 years old and qualified to evaluate research materials. They are not directed to children, and Pept does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact Pept so the information can be investigated and deleted where appropriate.

13

Do Not Track and global controls

Some browsers send a Do Not Track signal, but there is no single industry response standard. Because optional analytics remain disabled until consent is given, a visitor can deny them directly through the site's cookie notice.

Pept will evaluate recognized browser-based opt-out signals, such as Global Privacy Control, when applicable law requires them for a covered processing activity.

14

Changes and contact

Pept may update this policy as the site, service providers, payment options, or legal requirements change. The effective date above identifies the current version. Material changes may also be communicated through the site where appropriate.

To ask a privacy question or submit a request, contact Pept Research LLC at info@peptresearch.com or 2108 N St, Apt N, Sacramento, CA 95816. Please describe the request and the information or interaction involved so it can be evaluated efficiently.
